This book is geared toward the items in the White House more so than a Historiography of the building. While the book does a great job pointing out paintings and furnishings, it is a bit dull. You have to turn to the far back to read about the history of the building and the city. Recommended for Architecture lovers, not History buffs/5(9). I'm a firm believer that we all need a little romance in our lives from time to time. There's been so much hype about Red, White, and Royal Blue (at one point, a coworker saw me pull up an image of the book and shouted "Oh my God, I loved that book!") and I just wanted to see what all of the fuss was turns out that the fuss is correct.
